VietNamNet Bridge – In the afternoon of January 15, one day after a Quinvaxem vaccination at a local medical station, a nearly 3-month-old boy in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, died. The Lam Dong Department of Health has stopped Quinvaxem vaccinations in the whole province.

The parents of the baby said that at 10:30 am on January 14, they took the baby to the health station of Ward 7, Da Lat city for clinic Qinvaxem vaccination at the invitation of the station. The same afternoon, the baby began crying. Seeing the unusual phenomenon, the parents took him back to health station. After examination, doctors kept the baby for an hour and then the parents took him home.

At 7:30 am on January 15, the baby turned pale, breathing hard, so the family brought him back to the health station again. The baby was transferred to the Lam Dong General Hospital.

The Health Department Director was presented at the hospital to directly guide doctors to save the baby. However, the baby died in the afternoon.

Initially, the death was defined as anaphylaxis of unknown cause. The family refused an autopsy on the baby.

The Department of Health has stopped the use of the Quinvaxem vaccine in the province.
