VietNamNet Bridge – A baby girl surprised her neighbors in Tam Lanh commune, Phu Ninh district, the central province of Quang Nam by uttering he first words at two months old.

The baby, named Le Trang, was born on September 26 2010. She is now four months old, weighing nearly 8kg.

Her father, Le Minh Vuong, said when Trang was two months old, she could speak single words like “ba” (dad), “me” (mum), “keo” (candy), “bà” (grandmother) very clearly. Her ability surprised her family and their neighbors.

Mr. Than, Vuong’s neighbor, said: “I’ve never seen a 2-month-old baby who can speak like this girl. Babies often begin to speak at the age of 10 months old or more but this girl could clearly pronounce some words when she was only two months old”.

At present, the four-month-old baby can speak many more single and compound words, such as “banh” (cake), “tu” (cupboard), “do choi” (toy), “ba me” (dad and mum), etc.

“We are both happy and worried about her. Hundreds of people in my commune have flocked to my house to see whether my child can speak or not. I’m afraid that it is harmful for my daughter. I told them that she was sleeping but they waited until she woke up to listen to her,” Vuong said.

Experts said that this is a phenomenon of early linguistic development. Perhaps the baby copies language without understanding the meaning. Normally, children begin to understanding their parents’ language at the age of one and after that they can say words like “dad”, “mum”, “eat” and can understand the meaning.
