Bac Ninh has attracted over $4.5 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) within the first nine months of 2024, making it the nation’s leading FDI destination. Once a predominantly agricultural province, Bac Ninh has rapidly industrialized over the past 27 years, becoming a significant hub for industry in Vietnam.
On October 28, the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department held a conference to review the province's economic and social performance for the first three quarters of 2024 and to discuss preparations for the 2025–2030 provincial Party Congress.
Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Le Xuan Loi, reported that Bac Ninh’s economy has shown substantial progress in the past nine months, with the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growing by 5.52% year-on-year. Industrial production increased by 7.5%, and the service sector saw a 9.1% rise, while state budget revenues grew by 20.5%.
In terms of infrastructure, Bac Ninh has made strides in urban planning, land management, environmental protection, and land clearance. These developments mark significant achievements for the province, which has transformed from an agricultural base into one of Vietnam’s foremost industrial centers.
Looking ahead, Bac Ninh aims to review and prioritize its goals for Q4 and the remainder of 2024, establishing a strong foundation for the 2025 fiscal year and the 2020–2025 term. Additionally, the province is preparing for the upcoming Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, focusing on maintaining quality and adhering to a clear roadmap.
