Bad Boys Blue had a car accident in Russia on its journey from Novosibirsk to Tomsk, due to heavy rain and snow.

The cancellation was announced by Nguyen Thuy Duong, producer behind the concert Bad Boys Blue & Sandra which was scheduled for March 11.

The group and singer Sandra Ann Lauer were expected to perform in Viet Nam for the first time on the night of March 11 at the National Convention Centre.

Due to the cancellation, only German singer Sandra Ann Lauer will perform at the concert.

Dương said that the group had an accident in Russia on its journey from Novosibirsk to Tomsk, due to heavy rain and snow.

Most of the band members and the driver escaped injury, but John McInerney was seriously injured and was hospitalised for a broken thighbone.

Even though he was in pain, he called the organising committee to apologise for cancelling the band’s concert in Hanoi.

“We are very sorry for this accident and hope to get sympathy from the audiences, in particular fans of the band. We must send our encouragement and support to John McInerney and hope that the singer will be well again very soon,” Duong said.

Duong added that the previous name of the concert Bad Boys Blue & Sandra will be changed to Sandra Live in Concert.

Sandra Ann Lauer is known as one of the most successful German pop singers, selling more than 33 million records worldwide.
