VietNamNet Bridge – The non-performing loans (NPL) of all nine listed banks are less than 3%, according to the latest consolidated financial statement of these banks.

NPLs of the nine listed banks: BIDV (Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam), Vietcombank (Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam), Vietinbank (Bank for Industry and Trade of Vietnam), SHB (Saigon-Hanoi Bank), ACB (Asia Commercial Bank), Eximbank, MB (Military Bank), Sacombank (Saigon Thuong Tin Bank) and National Citizen Bank (NCB).




Regarding the total NPLs, BIDV tops the list with VND8,562 billion.

In particular, six of the nine banks have an NPL ratio at a lower level than those in the beginning of 2014. For the remaining three banks - Vietinbank, Military Bank and Eximbank - the debt ratio has begun to increase.

In 2014, the total bad debt increased by 4.2%, from VND32,503 billion to VND33,871 billion.

As for debt structure, the irrecoverable debts increased at the strongest rate, up by VND2,284 billion, accounting for 54.5% of the total bad debt.

In 2014, MBBank surpassed NCB to top the list with an NPL ratio of 2.87%, followed by NCB with 2.51%, Eximbank 2.46%, and Vietcombank 2.3%.

Vietinbank has the lowest NPL ratio, with 1.11%.

In terms of reducing the ratio of bad loans, NCB climbed to the top position after reducing the bad debt ratio from 6.06% to 2.51%.

SHB ranked second, with a bad debt ratio falling from 4.06% in late 2013 to 2.02% last December, as Vinashin’s debt of VND1,228 billion was removed.

Overdue loans at this bank also significantly decreased, from 7.13% in early 2014 to 3.93% at the end of the year.
