Bafta is due to announce its nominations for this year's film awards, with British stars expected to dominate the shortlists.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, David Oyelowo and Timothy Spall are in the frame for best actor nods.

Keira Knightley, Felicity Jones and Rosamund Pike are likely to score best actress and best supporting actress nominations.

The nominations will be announced at 07:35 GMT at Bafta in London.

Biopics The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything are also expected to be nominated for best film.

Wednesday saw Bafta announce the five actors nominated for this year's Rising Star award.

British stars Jack O'Connell - recently seen in Unbroken - and Belle actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw made the shortlist.

They will compete against Whiplash star Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley from The Fault in Our Stars and The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie.

All the winners will be announced at the Bafta Film Awards ceremony hosted by Stephen Fry on 8 February.
