The National Competition Commission said it has recently received a number of consumer complaints concerning ticket refunds from Bamboo Airways following flight cancellations.

In response, the commission held a meeting with Bamboo Airways, formally known as Bamboo Airways Joint Stock Company, to address the carrier's responsibilities in protecting consumer rights.

At the meeting, Bamboo Airways representatives pledged to improve transparency in its communications, provide passengers with timely information, and offer clear guidance on how they can exercise their rights under existing regulations when flights are canceled.

The airline also said it would prioritize resources to receive, review and process passengers' refund requests.

To safeguard consumers' legitimate rights and interests, the National Competition Commission issued a number of recommendations on how passengers should submit refund requests, provide the necessary information and retain relevant documentation.

The authority also provided guidance on how consumers can submit feedback or complaints if they require assistance in protecting their rights.
