Bamboo Airways topped the list of Vietnamese airlines in terms of on-time performance index in the first nine months of this year

The CAAV reported that during the period, Bamboo Airways conducted 12,005 flights, including 11,270 flights on-time, accounting for 93.9% out of its total flights.
Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) came second with 9,078 punctual flights, equal to 93.1% among its total flights.
The runners-up were national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Vietjet Air with the punctual fight rate of 88.4% and 82.8%.
Meanwhile, budget Jetstar Pacific ranked lowest at the ranking with 80.1% of flight punctuality.
The late return of planes was the main cause of delays, accounting for 61.8 per cent. Other reasons included limited airport infrastructure and services, flight management and operations, weather and technical issues, said the CAAV.
Bamboo Airways to launch regular flights to Seoul
Vietnam’s newest carrier Bamboo Airways will launch regular flights linking major cities of Vietnam with Seoul capital city of the Republic of Korea, starting from October 17.
The carrier plans to operate one round-trip flight in the route every day, using Airbus A321neo. Tickets for the new flights have been on sale since last month.
The RoK will continue to be a key market for Vietnamese airlines. Earlier, it was among the first countries that Bamboo Airways had chosen to launch international charter flights from April this year.
Bamboo Airways is operating 26 domestic routes and international ones to Japan, the RoK, and China.
In 2019, the airline plans to expand its network to 37-40 routes, including those to the Republic of Korea, China’s Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries. Its fleet is expected to expand to 30 in next year’s first quarter.
The airlines also launch Hanoi- Prague in early 2020./.
