The 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival was immediately held when Vietnam and China had just organized pilot tours for tourists from both countries to the Ban Gioc Waterfall Fall tourist site of Vietnam and Detian of China.

The festival was held on a provincial scale to introduce and promote the beauty of Cao Bang’s nature and people, especially Ban Gioc Waterfall, a national landscape, to domestic and international friends.

The event was also expected to encourage people from all walks of life to enthusiastically emulate productive labor, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development, ensuring security and national defense, attracting investment, promoting border trade activities...

The People's Committee of Cao Bang province directed the Management Board of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area to exempt entrance fees for tourists participating in the 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy said that the Ban Gioc waterfall festival is held annually to promote and introduce the beautiful scenery of Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world to domestic and international tourists.

With its rare and majestic beauty, Ban Gioc waterfall is honored by many news agencies and newspapers around the world as the world's 4th largest waterfall among waterfalls located on the border, Southeast Asia's largest natural waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, one of the 10 most majestic waterfalls in the world, top 7 most majestic waterfalls in the world, and top 7 natural wonders in Asia.

Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023 took place from October 5 to 9 with many interesting activities.

The first was the Sacred Water Procession Ceremony to pray for peace and good weather. The organizing board performed a water procession ceremony from the foot of Ban Gioc waterfall to Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda.

Localities in Cao Bang province set up many kiosks to display their specialties and cuisine. The festival also included a photo exhibition with the theme "Beauty of Cao Bang", along with sports activities and folk games. Visitors participating in the festival could also visit and experience chestnut tree gardens in Ban Khay, Chi Vien commune, Trung Khanh district.

On the morning of October 7, at Ban Gioc waterfall, within the framework of this year's festival, there were new activities organized for the first time such as experiencing chestnut gardens in Ban Khe hamlet; "Then singing – Tinh musical instrument playing” performance with the participation of 1,000 people.
