VietNamNet Bridge –The Ha Noi Department of Transport will send a proposal to the Ministry of Transport to increase the minimum age of taxi drivers from 18 to 21.

Thach Nhu Sy, the department's chief inspector, said this was expected to stop drivers breaching traffic laws.

More than 2,000 fines were imposed on taxi drivers in the first half of this year.

Ha Noi has nearly 120 taxi companies with more than 15,000 cars.
