One of the best places in the country to eat banh can and banh xeo is Ninh Thuan Province on the south-central coast.

The province also boasts a couple of tourist attractions, including Vinh Hy Bay, Vinh Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District, about 40 kilometers from Phan Rang-Thap Cham City.

After touring the scenic bay, visitors are recommended to have banh can and banh xeo cakes. In a rustic area near the bay is a small path where local people make banh can and banh xeo for serving on the spot.

The path lies along the way leading to Vinh Hy Bay, around 100 meters from a cement bridge. Small houses line both sides of the path.

Around 10 eateries serve banh can and banh xeo along the path at low costs, so just one US dollar is needed to make you full.

The freshly-made cakes are baked in round-shape terra-cotta molds, which are put onto a charcoal oven.

The mold used for making banh can features smaller molds with lids of the same material. The older the mold is, the more delicious the cake will be.

When the guest places an order, the seller will pour flour with cooking oil into the mould for baking before adding egg or squid upon request.

Banh can is topped with spring onion while the toppings of banh xeo are bean sprouts and onions.
