VietNamNet Bridge – Aphrodisiacs in general and products for women are banned in in Vietnam but users can buy them quite easy, says an official from HCM City.

Mr. Duong Cong Khanh, from the HCM City Market Control Bureau, says that users can buy this product as easy as condoms.

Khanh says that the authorities will tighten control on aphrodisiac sales in the city, particularly at drugstores.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Loan, vice chief inspector of the HCM City Health Department, says that health inspectors can inspect licensed drugstores only, while even cigarette stalls on the pavement and online forums sell this product.

The Thu Duc students’ village has nearly ten drugstores and up to four of them are detected to sell aphrodisiacs. Some drugstores located around other universities in HCM City also offer this product.

Besides aphrodisiac for women, drugstores also sell aphrodisiac which can be used by both men and women, priced VND50,000/tablet ($2.5).

Some cigarette stalls sell aphrodisiac chewing gums, which are priced VND200,000/pack.

Licensed condom shops provide many kinds of aphrodisiac.

All products are advertised to be imported products, which are brought into Vietnam by travelers. The prices are various, from VND50,000 to VND700,000/product.
