VietNamNet Bridge – Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou on September 28 hosted a banquet to mark China’s 62nd National Day (October 1).


Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan, leaders of a number of Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities and representatives from foreign diplomatic corps and international organisations in Hanoi joined the event. 

Speaking at the banquet, Ambassador Kong Xuanyou said Vietnam and China have seen new, practical and important developments in their cooperation. 

The diplomat affirmed the Chinese Party and Government’s consistent motto of consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries, which, he said, matches the fundamental interests of the countries and the aspiration of their people, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world. 

On behalf of the Vietnamese Party, Government and people, Minister Quan congratulated the Chinese people on their achievements during the reform process and construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. 

Quan stressed on major progress in the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in all areas. 

The two countries have well implemented three documents on land border management, contributing to building a common border line of peace, friendship, stability and cooperation and created conditions to address sea issues. 

The Party, Government and people of Vietnam wish to work with the Chinese Party and Government to further develop the partnership for the interest of people in each country, and for peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world, Quan said.

* On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations held a get-together to mark China’s 62nd National Day.

Duong Quan Ha, President of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, said Vietnam and China are neighbouring countries whose time-honoured friendly and cooperative relations have grown in accordance with the common interests of the Parties, Governments and people of the two nations. 

The Chinese Consul General in HCM City, Xu Mingliang, vowed to make positive contributions to fostering the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam as well as cooperation between Chinese localities and HCM City and Vietnam’s southern provinces in general.
