Update news bauxite project
VietNamNet Bridge – Scientists from the Vietnam Science and Technology Academy have confirmed that they can make iron from red mud, the waste created during alumina production.
Dr. Dang Trung Thuan said it would be not as easy as Vinacomin, the investor of the Central Highlands’ bauxite project -- to revert to the original state and recover the environment at the mining site.
VietNamNet Bridge – Pham Quang Tu, director of the Office of Social Evaluation and Consultancy, said that it is time to evaluate the bauxite project in the Central Highlands instead of waiting for Nhan Co alumina plant to do so.
The Government is continuously pushing for the application of advanced technology in bauxite mining in a bid to make the process more environmentally friendly and to enhance socio-economic efficiency.
