Beach football championship to be held in Malaysia
The ASEAN Beach Football Championship will be organised in Kuantan, Pahang Darulmakmur, Malaysia, from October 21 to 31.
Viet Nam are in Group B together with Thailand, Indonesia and Felda United, the Malaysian defending champion team, according to a draw organised on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur.
Group A will see matches between Laos, the Philippines, Myanmar and the hosts.
The detailed schedule of the sporting event has not been released yet.
The Vietnamese team will meet early next week in Nha Trang to prepare for the championship.
Marksmen gearing up for ASIAD 17
The national shooting team has arrived in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in preparation for the 2014 Asian Games (ASIAD 17) due to take place from Sept. 18 to Oct. 4 in Incheon.
The team of 10 female and 14 male marksmen is coming off an intensive three-month training course in the RoK and emotions are running high for a successful gold-winning tournament.
Coach Nguyen Thi Nhung said team members will continue to practice under the guidance of Korean sharpshooters Park Chung Gun and Choi Jung Ah right up to the start of competition.
Golfers to tee off at international Lang Co Classic
Today the Lang Co golf club fairways will be crowded with clubs swinging for the glory of the game and a collection of high-value prizes.
The Laguna Park Lang Co Classic golf tournament will field a mixture of nearly 100 professional golfers and high paying investors from Hong Kong, Singapore and Viet Nam.
The 18-hole par-71 course will accommodate the full range of players with a handicap scoring system, giving everyone a chance to bring home one of the organising committee's collection of prizes.
Someone might even take home a new house. The "exceptional hole-in-one award" offers one lucky player a chance to own one of the very first Laguna Park Townhomes.
The Lang Co course is praised as one of the most unique courses in Asia, designed by 6-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo.
Young players represent Viet Nam at Asian championship
Viet Nam will play their first match against host China at the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship tomorrow (September 6) in Shenzhen City.
Viet Nam are in Group A, which also has South Korea and Iran.
Group B comprises Thailand, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan.
Vietnamese coach Pham Van Long is bringing several young players to the tournament to test their skills as they would eventually replace the senior players in the team.
The tournament will end on September 12.
