Established in 2015, Non Nuoc Cao Bang is the second UNESCO-recognised global geopark in Vietnam. The park is also the eight of its kind in Southeast Asia to receive the status.

Non Nuoc Cao Bang in the northern border province of Cao Bang covers an area of 3,000 sq.km
The geopark is home to fossils, ocean sediment, volcanic rocks, minerals and especially karst landscapes
It is also well known for rich biodiversity and many indigenous fauna and flora species
Cao Bang province will carry out three tourism routes in the geopark area to attract more tourists
In 2016, Cao Bang submited a dossier to UNESCO to seek the global geopark recognition
On November 24, 2018, Non Nuoc Cao Bang received the global geopark status from the UNESCO
