VietNamNet Bridge - A beauty contest entitled “Beauty Plus” took place in Hanoi on November 14 to honor the beauty, talent and spirit of women living with HIV.

 

The event was financed and organised by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in collaboration with the Centre for Supporting Community Development Initiatives, Vietnam Television’s youth-focused channel VTV6, and the Bright Futures Network (BFN).

 

Jury members include fashion designer Xuan Thu, TV journalist Ta Bich Loan, artist Le Khanh, and Miss Vietnam 2006, Mai Phuong Thuy.

 

The US ambassador to Vietnam, Michael W. Michalak, crowned the Beauty Plus winner – Tran Thi Hue from Hanoi.

 

Nghiem Thi Lan from Thai Binh ranked second while To Thi Tuyet from Bac Giang took the third position.

 

Nguyen Thi Chung, from Quang Ninh province won the Best in ao dai title. The Charming Face title went to Bui Thi Hien from Hoa Binh province. Quang Thi Nguyet from Dien Bien province took the Best Body title while Nghiem Thi Lan from Thai Binh top the interview round.
