The match was intense right from its every first minutes, but the game balance changed when Binh Duong’s forward Nguyen Tien Linh, the former star of U19 Vietnam, neared Sai Gon FC’s goal zone after receiving a decisive pass from the team’s captain and opened the score for the host.
The opening goal stimulated the competitive spirit of the host’s players, particularly talented forward Linh, who continued to shine at the end of the first half, doubling the goal gap with the visiting team.
Binh Duong continued to dominate the second half of the match. Linh widened the goal gap between the two teams by creating a hat trick, scoring his third goals in a row in the 60th minute.
In the last minutes of the match, Sai Gon FC made great efforts to achieve their first and only goal, shortening the gap. They also had several opportunities during the match, but all of their efforts were stymied by the excellent performance of the host’s goalkeeper Tan Truong.
