Former England captain David Beckham has been named to the MLS's all-star team, league commissioner Don Garber announced on Thursday.

Beckham, whose five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy expires at the end of the season, was one of the five midfielders named to the all-star team.

Beckham's teammate and fellow midfielder Landon Donovan was also recognized along with France's Thierry Henry who plays forward for the New York Red Bulls.

The 36-year-old Beckham, who appeared in 26 games for the Galaxy this season, will play in his first MLS Cup final on November 20 when the Galaxy take on Houston.
