VietNamNet Bridge – Famous conductor Jonas Alber and violinist Le Hoai Nam will present Beethoven Cycle No 7 with the Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) on Friday and Saturday at the Ha Noi Opera House.

The concert will consist of nine immortal symphonies of genius German composer Ludwig van Beethoven.


Since 2009, the Beethoven Cycle with support of the VNSO and the Goethe Institute has seen many renowned artists and conductors. Some notable examples are Michie Koyama, Tomoko Mukaiyama, Le Phi Phi and Christoph Campestrini.


In this seventh programme, music lovers will have an opportunity to enjoy Beethoven's music with the VNSO and violinist Nam under German conductor Alber.


Alber returns to Viet Nam after his January 2010 performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the VNSO and the Berlin Philharmonic Choir. He studied violin and conducting in Freiburg and Vienna and before becoming the youngest conductor to have the position of General Music director at the State Theatre Braunschweig. Since 2007, the conductor has worked with well-known orchestras around the world.


Violinist Nam is a prestigious artist in Hong Kong today. He studied at the Ha Noi National Conservatory of Music at the age of seven, and continued studying at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).


Nam has performed as a soloist with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Viet Nam National Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Ha Noi String Chamber Orchestra and HKAPA Symphony Orchestra.


Currently Nam teaches at the HKAPA and plays second violin in the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
