Belarusian Prime Minister Mikkhail Myasnikovich begins a four-day visit to Viet Nam today at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung.

The two leaders are looking to boost trade between the two countries.

Two-way trade turnover reached nearly US$151 million in the first eight months of 2011, a 2.6-fold increase against the same period last year.

Vietnamese exports to Belarus include seafood, electronics, garments, rice and rubber.

A number of Vietnamese enterprises have signed contracts with Belarusian construction firms to send guest workers to work in Minsk.

About 600,000 Vietnamese people currently live in Belarus.

Thailand 's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will also pay an official visit to Viet Nam tomorrow at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Shinawatra took office in August 2011, becoming the first female government leader of Thailand.
