After the Stockholm Film Festival in last November, this is the second time cameraman Pham Quang Minh received the Best Cinematography Prize for “Bi, don’t be afraid”.

This year the festival attracted 74 movies from many countries in the world. “Bi, don’t be afraid” was screened on the second day of the festival (June 3).

The highest prize of Mediawave Festival was presented to a Russian film “Silent Soul”. The Vietnamese film is the only Asian movie that is honored at the festival.

Cameraman Pham Quang Minh has worked for the Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC) for 12 years. He shot many TV series for the national Vietnam Television (VTV). “Bi, don’t be afraid” is his first feature film. Minh is schoolmate of director Phan Dang Di at the Stage and Cinema University.

Going to local cinemas in March, “Bi, don’t be afraid” was a hot spot on newspapers for a long time. The movie caused controversy over its art style. After being introduced home, the movie has sent to nearly 30 international film festivals.

This film was introduced in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Asian Crossroads program at the Seattle Film Festival from May 19 to June 12, besides Saigon Yo! (director Stephane Gauger) and Touch (director Minh Duc Nguyen).
