VietNamNet Bridge – The big guys who own big social networks in the world are all considering cooperating with each other to become stronger in the fierce competition, and Vietnam is no exception to this growing tendency.

Cooperating for mutual benefits

In January 2011, Yahoo! officially allowed Facebook and Google users to log in and use Yahoo! services while no need to register new accounts. This is really a wise move of the powerful Internet group, because, though still being considered a “big guy”, Yahoo! has to shut down some services due to ineffective operation.

The representative of Yahoo! stressed that as for Yahoo!, any one who logs in Yahoo! is considered as valuable user, no matter he uses Yahoo!, Google or Facebook accounts.

In mid May, another cooperation deal also came true--the cooperation of the search engine Bing, the “trump card” of Microsoft, the giant, and the biggest social network Facebook.

Big began the process of penetrating the vast market named Facebook last June by allowing the users of the social network to post the links relating to Bing. In October, Bing officially “shook hands” with Facebook to formalize the social services of the search engine.

The cooperation among the big guys in media can bring big benefits to users: they can exchange and contact more easily and conveniently, while they do not have to create too many accounts. Of course, service providers themselves can also earn big benefits from the deals, because they can attract new users and polish their images.

Vietnamese social networks following the trend

In Vietnam, go.vn proves to be the fastest social network which has caught up with the world’s trend.

Since mid May 2011, the Vietnamese network has connected with Facebook: all the activities on go.vn such as posting status, pictures, blogs and music can be updated at the same time on Facebook.

In June 2011, go.vn announced the official cooperation with tamtay.vn. With the cooperation deal, since June 16, 2011, the users of the Vietnamese network can use the username and Vcoin of tamtay.vn to play and make payment in the games developed by tamtay.vn at play.go.vn/gametamtay/app.

However, cooperating with tamtay.vn is not the final deal of go.vn. In an effort to realize the ambition to become the leading social network in Vietnam, go.vn has made a new cooperation deal with vivo.vn, an online entertainment site. The most outstanding feature of the website is that all the contents, from films, music, TV shows are copyrighted with the copyright purchased from domestic and foreign suppliers.

With the cooperation deal, members of go.vn can use their accounts to watch films and contents on vivo.gov.vn while they do not have to open new websites. It is clear that it is quicker and more interesting to watch film online.

Sources have said that in the near future, the social network would officially announce the plan to cooperate with chodientu.vn, one of the most popular online sale sites in Vietnam.

tamtay.vn, vivo.vn, chodientu.vn--are the service providers who have their advantages on the digital content market and e-commerce. A question has been raised that when the cooperation between zing.vn and go.vn would be announced.

People believe that the cooperation of the two big social networks will be inked in a very near future, because both of them well understand the big benefits the cooperation can bring. Most importantly, this will help Vietnamese social networks to stand firmly and develop in the competitions with Facebook, Twitter and possibly Google+.
