Becamex Binh Duong grabbed their first victory this V-League season after beating Dong Nai 4-1 yesterday

Abass Cheikh Dieng opened the score for the host side in the last minute of the first half.

The Senegalese forward managed the ball headed by teammate Nguyen Anh Duc and shot it straight into the net.

Seven minutes after the break, it was 2-0 when substitute Suleiman Abdullahi tapped a close-range ball to beat keeper Danh Hoang Tuan.

New comer Nguyen Trong Hoang made it 3-0 in the 56th minute from his solo break-in performance.

Dieng pocketed his second goal at the 71st minute, receiving a perfect pass from teammate Hoang Van Binh in the right wing.

Former U23 team forward Nguyen Duc Thien took the only goal for the visiting side at the 91st.

Also yesterday, Ninh Binh drew Dong Tam Long An 2-2 while Quang Nam lost 3- 5 to two-time champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

In the round's earlier match, SHB Da Nang had a regrettable 2-2 draw against

Quang Ninh Coal on Saturday, wasting their chance to enter top three, despite playing on their home turf.

Da Nang scored their goals in the second half through Giang Tran Quach Tan and Phan Thanh Hung.

They maintained their domination until almost the end. But their defenders lost their concentration in the added time and Ihertuome Uche and Nguyen Xuan Ngoc levelled the result.

The unexpected tie made Da Nang fans angry. They crowded in front of the Chi Lang Stadium doors to scream and shout until police came to disperse them.

"Our rivals did not play well but we lost by ourselves. We committed too many faults in the added time. My young players reeled under heavy pressure in those crucial moments," said coach Le Huynh Duc of Da Nang.

"Clearly, they were not professional and experienced enough in this match.

Their lack of communication led to poor connection between them."

Coach Dinh Cao Nghia of Quang Ninh said his team were lucky. Quang Ninh were in chaos due to conflict between players and club managers. But they successfully put it aside and focused on this match against a stronger rival.

They stand in the third place with eight points, two more than Da Nang who are at fifth.

However, Nghia confirmed that the team's target is to stay in the V-League this season.

"We will make a detailed plan for each match and try to avoid relegation," said Nghia.

At the same time, in An Giang Province, V-League leader Thanh Hoa defeated host An Giang 2-1 to strengthen their top position.

As hosts, An Giang created more opportunities but failed to score a goal.

They received a goal loss in the 40th minute by Thanh Hoa star Nastja Ceh with a shot from 25m.

Coach Nhan Thien Nhan made several changes in his line-up in the second half.

Former national striker Phan Thanh Binh was on the field and he had the only goal for An Giang in the added time from a penalty. This was the first goal of the host in this season.

Earlier, Thanh Hoa went ahead 2-0 with Sunday Emmanuel making an accurate long-range kick to the far corner of goalkeeper Phan Van Santos at the 83rd.

An Giang, after their third failure, sit at the bottom with only one point.

The third match on Saturday saw hosts Ha Noi T&T trouncing Hai Phong 5-2.

The defending champion jumped to second place with four points less than leader Thanh Hoa, but they still have one match in hand.
