VietNamNet Bridge – On Wednesday evening, Korean rescue workers found the body of Mrs. Phan Ngoc Thanh, a passenger on the SEWOL, the ferry that sank off the western coast of South Korea last week. Thanh, a Vietnamese woman, was married to a Korean man.

Thanh, from the southernmost province of Ca Mau, was on the ferry with her husband and two children of five and six years of age. The 29-year-old woman was naturalized in Korea last July, with the Korean name Han Yun-Ji.

Thanh’s father and younger sister received her body at the beach of Bengmok, Jindo County, Chonlanm-do Province.

After a period of time living in Seoul, the family had packed up their belongings to settle down on Korea’s Jeju Island. That was their destination on April 16, when they boarded the ill-fated ferry.

Rescue workers found only Thanh’s five-year-old daughter alive, with a life-jacket that had been ceded to her by her six-year-old brother.
