On December 11, border guards at the Thuan Binh post in Tay Ninh Province handled a case involving six Vietnamese citizens who illegally crossed the border from Cambodia into Vietnam after fleeing from a suspected scam company.

According to official sources, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 10, a joint patrol team from the border guard and local police discovered a group of six individuals behaving suspiciously near border marker 197+300 meters in Thuan Hiep hamlet, Binh Thanh commune.

Upon questioning, the group admitted to illegally entering Vietnam after escaping from scam companies operating in Oddar Meanchey Province, Cambodia.

The individuals were identified as V.N.T (32, from Kien Giang), L.M.T (41, from Can Tho), L.T.P (35, from An Giang), N.V.P (16, from Dong Nai), P.V.P (24, from Binh Dinh), and N.T.H.N (23, from Tay Ninh).

At the Thuan Binh border post, authorities issued administrative fines to all six individuals for the offense of "crossing the national border without completing immigration procedures as prescribed."

The unit is continuing to investigate the group’s border-crossing history and any possible criminal activities. Meanwhile, patrol operations along the border are being intensified to prevent similar incidents.
