In Saigon, a girl and her friends have collected abandoned cats and dogs for treatment and care. Then, they find new homes for these pitiful animals. Her phone number becomes a hotline for giving advice on cats and dogs. Her Facebook account also provides information on these animals. That kind-hearted girl is Vi Thao Nguyen, 29.

Thao Nguyen says that her family moved from the coastal city of Phan Thiet to Saigon. Many years later, once she searched her old photos and she found a picture of her dog, which had been given to a neighbor household before her family went to Saigon. Thao Nguyen came back to her former neighbor’s house to visit the pet, but they had gone away.

Five years ago, she saw an injured dog at a bus station near Tao Dan Park and she decided to bring it home to take care of it. The dog has become a pet of her family ever since. Whenever she goes out, she always looks for abandoned animals. The 60-square-meter apartment of her family in District 6 is now home to 30 cats and 11 dogs. When one wants to keep one or some of these animals, Nguyen and her assistants will consider everything carefully to make sure that their pets will have a good home and a kind master, reported Tien Phong newspaper.

Students return huge lost money

Two student found someone’s bag containing VND88 million and some gold. They brought the bag to the local police to have the latter return it to the owner. They are Tran Thi Thanh Lam in Can Tho City and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep in Hau Giang Province, students of Hau Giang Community College.

Thanh Lam told vnexpress.net that at about 7 a.m. on March 23, when Ngoc Diep rode her bike to Thanh Lam’s house to take her to school, they saw a women on a motorbike drop a bag. They called her but she did not hear.
The two students brought this bag to the local police station. Police officers checked the bag and they found VND88 million and some gold items, worth more than VND100 million. The police contacted the owner of the bag, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dieu, to return it to her.

Ngoc Diep said when they picked up the bag, they wanted to immediately send it back to the owner. In their opinion, they should not keep anything that does not belong to them. These good students have received certificates of merit from their college and local authorities.

Puncture repairs: Woman to the rescue

Repairing punctures is a hard work that is often undertaken by men. However, in Quang Ngai City, a sixty-year-old woman is doing this job fairly well. She is Nguyen Thi Thanh Tra.

Tra told Phap Luat TPHCM newspaper that her parents ran an auto tire puncture repair workshop in the 1960s. After 1975, all workers went back to their homes and the workshop could be closed because her parents have no sons to do this hard work.

Tra thought that if the workshop was closed, her parents would be sad and could not support the family. So, she decided to quit school and do the job herself. At first, drivers were surprised to see a female tire puncture repairer. They often helped the little girl in her job, but Tra thought that she should not accept any help from her customers. Instead, she managed to do it herself neatly and quickly.

Many drivers say that they like to have Tra repair their tire punctures because she is a responsible worker. Tra has also trained many people who now have good business in Quang Ngai.
