The festival is to take place as part of activities held to celebrate the 35th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Brazil.

The legends team, which consists of footballers who played for Brazil’s national team when they won the World Cup in both 1994 and 2002, will participate in a friendly match against Vietnamese ex-national players on April 27 at Hoa Xuan Stadium in Da Nang city.

Hoa Xuan Stadium will also be the venue for local football fans to meet the Brazilian and Vietnamese football legends on April 28.

Furthermore, the Brazilian football legends will participate in activities that contribute to promoting the image of Da Nang to the world through sporting and cultural activities, according to the organisers.

According to Da Nang’s Department of Tourism, in the first quarter of the year the central city served more than 1.88 million visitors, up 23.4% on-year, including 636,000 international tourists, up 21.6%.

The total earnings from tourism activities hit over VND7.6 trillion, representing an annual increase of 25.6%.
