VietNamNet Bridge – Brazilian team Floripa won the 2012 Tiger Street Football title after trouncing Malaysians Equal FC 7-2 in the final at September 23 Park, District 1 in HCMC on Saturday.

Floripa net US$30,000 in cash and a sparkling trophy, while Equal FC won US$10,000. Argentinians Futsar beat Dat Vinh Tien of Vietnam 6-3 in the third-place game, earning US$5,000.
Floripa earlier beat Futsar 3-2, while Equal defeated Dat Vinh Tien 5-4 in the semi-finals.
The event featured former Juventus and Holland midfielder Edgar Davids as tournament ambassador. The Dutch legend said the event provided a great opportunity to promote the Beautiful Game in Vietnam and Asia.
Four Vietnamese teams, who finished in the top four in local Tiger Street Football competitions, qualified for the final round with six foreign teams, who won Tiger Street Football competitions in their own countries, from Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Thailand.
The tournament will be back in 2013, as it widens its net, with games scheduled in Cambodia, Mongolia and Australia.
