VietNamNet Bridge – The broadcasting rights to the International Football tournament, Becamex IDC Cup, have been sold to foreign partners, the organising committee confirmed yesterday, Oct 2.
Rights to broadcast the tournament, which will be held at Binh Duong's Go Dau Stadium from Thursday to Monday, have been bought by distributors in Uganda, India.
It is the first time the broadcasting rights to a football tournament in Viet Nam have been sold abroad, organisers said.
The annual tournament, which was launched in 1999 and has been recognised by the Asian Football Confederation, has attracted teams from Binh Duong, Hai Phong, Uganda's SC Villa, Slovakia's MSK Zilina, Da Nang, Sai Gon Xuan Thanh, Brazil's Matsubara and India's Kingfisher East Bengal.
The winners will be presented with a cheque for US$20,000.
Last year, Dong Tam Long An beat Brazil's Matsubara 1-0 in the final.
