VietNamNet Bridge - There will be a free concert in mid-April for the audience of HCM City by a famous artist of the Broadway musical theatre - Michael Parks Masterson.

The American artist will be in Ho Chi Minh City from Aprilon 8 through 18. He will join a free performance with professional and amateur artists of Vietnam.

This program is part of a series of cultural activities of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, with the aim of improving understanding between the two peoples.
 
Being an excellent artist in singing, dancing and acting, Michael Parks Masterson has been invited to perform in more than 30 countries around the world in the last two decades. He was the solo baritone in several Broadway and off-Broadway plays. One of the most unforgettable experiences of the artist was his performance at the White House with the famous vocalist soprano Renee Fleming in concert "Christmas at the White House" in 2000.

In recent years, Masterson has focused more on the role of a director as well as a lecturer. His players were performed at the Cairo Opera House (Egypt), Talim Tangier (Morocco) and Lahore (Pakistan). Some of his successful plays are as Grease, Annie, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Hairspray, West Side Story...

Masterson served as a visiting teacher at Rangsit University in Bangkok (Thailand), guest artist at the Conservatory of Hacettepe in Ankara (Turkey) and toured five times as the Cultural Ambassador of the US Department of State.

Performances by Michael Parks Masterson and Vietnamese artists will be held free of charge at the HCM City Music Conservatory at 20h on April 18.
