VietNamNet Bridge – Jamaica's Kavin Bryan struck twice, while Nguyen Trong Hoang and Hedges Devon Derron added two another goals to help Song Lam Nghe An overpower Khatoco Khanh Hoa 4-0 in the Eximbank V-League yesterday, May 15.

Bryan opened the scoring for Nghe An after just 24 minutes when he wrestled the ball from a Khanh Hoa defender and cannoned a shot past keeper Anh Tuan.

Khanh Hoa had earlier passed up a golden scoring opportunity when Brazilian Agostinho Petronilo could not turn the ball in at the goal-mouth.

Then five minutes into the second half it was Nghe An's turn to miss a clear chance as Bryan failed to beat the Khanh Hoa keeper in a one-on-one.

The Jamaican striker was also involved in the build-up to the third goal when he was pushed by Khanh Hoa's defender Issifu Ansah in the 18-yard-box. Midfielder Trong Hoa made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Elroy Bryan struck again in the 79th minute, while substitute Devon headed home Trong Hoang's cross in the last minute to compete a convincing win for Nghe An.

The win sees central Nghe An team sitting pretty at the top of the league with 32 points after 14 matches, four points clear of runners-up Da Nang, who also had big win yesterday, crushing Ninh Binh 4-0.

Dong Thap, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw at home by two-time champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai. This leaves them in third place with 24 points.

Also yesterday, two-time V-League champions Dong Tam Long An played out a goalless away draw with Hai Phong.

Becamex Binh Duong cruised to a 3-0 victory over Navibank Sai Gon at Go Dau Stadium, while defending champions Ha Noi T&T were held goalless by Thanh Hoa.
