Local authorities have been taking measures to prevent fires, with rangers joining local residents to patrol day and night.

Le Thanh Dung, deputy director of the forest, said the forecast was for dry conditions to continue over the next few days.

The areas at highest risk are under special supervision.

During a recent inspection of the forest, Nguyen Tien Hai, chairman of Ca Mau’s People’s Committee, asked the forest management board to remain vigilant.
