VietNamNet Bridge – Heng Samrin, Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on July 20, starting his official five-day visit to Vietnam.
The top Cambodian legislator was accompanied by Cheam Yeap, Chairman of Commission on Economy, Finance, Banking and Auditing; Chheang Vun, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Media and Information; Pen Pannha, Chairman of Commission on Legislation and Justice; Mom Chim Huy, Chairman of the Commission on Education, Youth, Sports, Cults, Religious Affairs, Culture and Tourism; Ho Naun, Chairwoman of the Commission on Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Rehabilitation, Labor, Vocational Training and Women’s Affairs; and Mom Kheng, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly of Cambodia
Heng Samrin, who became chairman of the Cambodia NA in 2006, has received numerous decorations, including the Medal of National Merit and Grand Cross Medals of the Royal Order of Cambodia and the Royal Order of Sowathara.
He has also been awarded the Medal of Sena Jayasedh and nine National Defense Medals (three gold, three silver and three bronze).
His visit, which is made at the invitation of NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, is aimed at fostering cooperation between the two legislative bodies and two countries in general.
