The events will see a wide range of activities held including a Hungarian contemporary art exhibition at the Can Tho museum between November 14 and 24, and a screening of a Hungarian movie at Luu Huu Phuoc park on November 16.

An array of activities will get underway on November 15, including a Vietnamese calligraphy performance, a book and photograph exhibition featuring both Vietnamese and Hungarian culture and tourism, along with a food fair promoting the cuisine of both countries to visitors.

In addition, the occasion will also be running a workshop on the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme which has been launched by the Hungarian government, along with a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding between Hungary's Kaposvár University and Can Tho University.

Each day during the festival a street dance performance will take place between 6pm and 7pm with the aim of introducing traditional Hungarian dances to viewers. There will also be a corner for visitors who wish to take photographs with some Hungarian folk costumes.

The Hungarian Cultural Days in Can Tho City are part of a number of activities celebrating 70 years since the foundation of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Hungary, from 1950 to 2020, as well as serving to boost cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Can Tho hosts ASEAN community exhibition An exhibition of photos and documentaries about the ASEAN community opened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on November 6. The exhibition features more than 300 photos and nearly 60 documentaries in three main topics including countries and their peoples, climate change and environmental protection, and ethnic groups in the ASEAN community. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai said that seeing the photos and documentaries, visitors can learn about the cultures and traditions of the Southeast Asian countries. After the exhibition, all the photos and documentaries will be handed over to the government of Can Tho City for display at other cultural programs in the future, especially in 2020 when Vietnam takes over the ASEAN Chairmanship. The exhibition is organized by Can Tho City government at the Can Tho Promotion Agency until November 10 as part of the Vietnam International Agricultural Fair. The fair features 500 stalls of 300 businesses from 25 provinces and cities of Vietnam as well as joint ventures and foreign firms from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Israel, Turkey and Taiwan.  VOV/SGT
