VietNamNet Bridge - Visitors to Nha Trang City now have a new option for budget accommodations: capsule-style bedrooms equipped with basic convenience, cost only VND170,000/night ($8).

Asia Hotel launched this service in late October, the first of its kind in Nha Trang. 

The capsules are design as spacecrafts, using steel and ABS plastic structure, which are luxurious, comfortable, and modern.

The hotel offers 56 small bedrooms with an area of approximately 2 m2. Each capsule is for a person, equipped with a television, air conditioner, safe box, wifi service and firefighting equipment inside.

This kind of bedrooms is suitable for backpackers or those on business frequently. In November, the charge will be discounted 20%.

Ms. Phan Thanh Truc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province, said this new product contributes to the diversification of tourism products in Nha Trang to attract more tourists.

This kind of hotel room is quite common in Hong Kong and Japan. In Vietnam, they are available in HCM City, Hanoi, Dalat and now Nha Trang.

Located on Bui Vien Street, District 1, Hong Kong Kaiteki is the first capsule hotel in Vietnam. With six floors built on about 60 m2 of surface, the hotel has 60 bedrooms. The area of each room is 2.5 m2, enough for a person to sleep. The charge for one night is VND175,000 ($8).

Although the bedroom is very small, guests are still provided with conveniences like a bed, air conditioning, hair dryer, mini bar, television, headsets, laptops desk and free wifi. Luggage will be left in the closet with pass code.

The hotel is divided into areas for men and women to avoid inconvenience in daily life. Each area is divided into two, one side is a capsules and the side is the toilets.
