Hanoi Police announced today the arrest and indictment of Nguyen Van Thai (born 2000) and Nguyen Manh Hoang (born 2004), both residents of Soc Son District, on charges of “Theft of property.” A third individual, Nguyen Hong Son (born 1996, residing in Noi Bai Commune), has been charged with “Consuming property obtained through criminal activity.”

According to the investigation, at dawn on June 30, Thai drove a car to the airport cargo area where he and accomplice Hoang broke in and used a sharp knife to cut open 14 cargo packages, stealing 138 mini computers.

The next evening (July 1), Thai contacted Nguyen Hong Son to help resell the stolen goods. Son found a buyer willing to pay VND 1.82 million per unit but deceived Thai by quoting only VND 1.4 million per unit, pocketing the price difference. In addition to the margin, Son also took 20% of the total sale proceeds as a commission.

Upon receiving reports of the theft, Noi Bai Airport Police immediately coordinated with Hanoi's Criminal Police Division to investigate. Within just 10 days, authorities successfully dismantled the entire operation, recovered all 138 stolen mini PCs, and arrested those involved.

The investigation is ongoing, and Hanoi Police are continuing to compile evidence to prosecute the individuals in accordance with the law.
