The line-up includes award-winning productions like Co Mot Chu Coc Con (There is A Little Toad), Ech Chia Trang (Frog Shares the Moon), Chuyen Di Xa Cua Tac Ke (Gecko's Adventure) and Chu Be Danh Giay (Shoeshine Boy).

Produced by the State-owned VCS, these films feature brave and funny characters, who often dedicate their lives to helping others.

Doan Thanh's Chu Be Danh Giay is about the life of a shoeshine boy who works hard on the street every day to earn money to support himself.

With its colourful scenes and meaningful dialogues, reminiscent of a beautiful song about love and compassion, it won the Viet Nam Cinematography Association's Silver Kite award for best cartoon in 2009.

There will also be four new 3D-films by young directors – Trinh Lam Tung's Duoi Cua Than Lan (The Tail of a Lizard), Tran Khanh Duy's Thu Linh Vay Lua (The Leader on Fire), Tran Khanh Duyen's Anh Va Em (You and Me), and Tran Khanh Duy's Bay Ve Phia Bau Troi (Flying to the Sky).

There will be three screenings every day from 9am at Thanh Giong Cinema, 7 Tran Phu Street, Ba Dinh District, until late July.

The organisers also plan to deliver videos and DVDs of the films to young audiences living in remote areas and islands.

The event is organised in co-operation with VCS's partner Distribution and Screening Film Company and Thanh Giong Cinema.
