According to the latest update, CAS requires additional time to review the full case file, legal arguments and evidence submitted by all parties before delivering an official verdict.

This development means the previously expected announcement date is no longer valid. A CAS media representative confirmed that a preliminary decision could be issued next week, with the full written award, including detailed reasoning, to follow later.

Given the sensitive nature of the case and the high level of public interest, CAS is likely to release a press statement immediately after reaching its initial conclusion.

The case has attracted particular attention as it directly concerns the 12-month suspensions imposed by FIFA on seven of Malaysia’s naturalized players: Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, Joao Figueiredo, Gabriel Palmero, Jon Irazabal and Hector Hevel.

FAM lodged its appeal in the hope of reducing or overturning the sanctions, thereby allowing the players to return sooner to represent the national team in upcoming major competitions.

The delay keeps Malaysian football in a state of uncertainty, with potential implications for regional tournaments and qualification campaigns in the months ahead.
