After the handover, the project can be put into operation immediately. However, the operation schedule will be decided by the municipal government, the local media reported.

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, the city will offer free services for all passengers on the metro line during the first 15 days of operation. The tickets for the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line will later cost VND8,000 at the lowest, VND15,000 for a full trip and VND30,000 for a day pass.

In addition, the ticket will be VND200,000 for a passenger and VND100,000 for students and laborers a month at industrial parks.

On October 29, the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Projects approved the quality assessment results of the metro line.

The Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway is 13 kilometers long, and has 12 stations and 13 trains. It starts at the Cat Linh Station in Ba Dinh District and ends at the Yen Nghia Station in Ha Dong District.

In the first stage, four to six trains will be used.

Hanoi will offer free travel for all passengers on its first metro line Cat Linh – Ha Dong during the first 15 days after the line is put into operation, according to Director of the city’s Department of Transport Vu Van Vien.
