Team chairman Tran Dang Khoa said tourists would paddle the section between the Rong (Dragon) Wharf and Tran Thi Ly Bridge from 11pm-12.30am, stopping to watch the final countdown and release lanterns at Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

The bridge, which dates from the 1960s, will be the launching place for fireworks so tourists can see them up close. The 15-minute fireworks performance will be held in Hai Chau, Ngu Hanh Son, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.

The tour costs VND390,000 (US$18.50) per person and includes lifejackets, a guide, snacks, local beef pie, soft drinks and champagne. Reservations can be made at www.facebook.com/KayakDanang or 0905681900.
