All the artists are lecturers at the academy, including sopranos Lan Anh and Bach Tra, tenors Dinh Phuong and Anh Quan and baritone Quoc Duy.

They will sing extracts from known works, including The Marriage of Figaro, La Boheme, The Phantom of The Opera and Notre Dame of Paris.

The performers will be accompanied by pianist Ta Quang Dong, deputy director of the academy; keyboardist Phan Dang Duong; and musicians from the Hue Academy of Music, Viet Nam National Academy of Music and Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra.

"This is the first time artists from the academy will perform in Ha Noi," the academy's deputy director Ta Quang Dong said.

"It is a chance for the academy to meet the capital's music lovers, introduce its work and popularise itself amongst the national audience."

The Autumn Melody show will begin at 8pm at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street.

Established in 1962, the Hue Academy of Music is one of three largest music academies in Viet Nam. It aims to research and conserve traditional music and train artists in the Central and Central Highlands areas. The academy's students have participated in and won prizes at national music contests.
