VietNamNet Bridge – The football team from the Central Highland province of Gia Lai has won the champion title of a football tournament for disadvantaged children in Ho Chi Minh City.

They defeated the host team, HCM City, 2-0 in the final round on June 6.

The two goals were scored by striker Kip who was awarded the best striker of the tourney, the 13th of its kind to mark International Children’s Day (June 1).

The winning team received a VND30 million cash prize and sponsorship for a tour to Malaysia. It was also presented VND50 million by Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group.

The first and second runners-up were awarded VND25 million and VND20 million, respectively.

After the closing ceremony, the organizing board also held a music and dance performance and party for about 2,000 underprivileged children.
