VietNamNet Bridge – IMAX Corporation and CJ CGV Holdings, Ltd. (CJ CGV) have announced an expansion of the companies' partnership with the addition of two IMAX theatres to be located in Viet Nam, marking IMAX's entry into the country.

CJ CGV, IMAX's second-largest partner internationally, will have 97 IMAX theatre, including two theatres in Viet Nam, 20 theatres in South Korea and 75 theatres in China.

In IMAX, people experience a different movie altogether. Everything from the movie itself to the theatre's technology and design is developed and customised to make people believe they are part of the action.

IMAX works directly with filmmakers to enhance the movie using its Digital Re-Mastering process, which delivers superior picture and sound quality.

Located on the fifth floor of the SC VivoCity Shopping Center in District 7, CGV VivoCity is the 10th cinema of CGV in HCM City and the 24th CGV cinema in Viet Nam.

CGV VivoCity will officially open on April 19 with seven cinemas and 1,260 seats including IMAX theatre – featuring 311 seats and the cutting-edge IMAX system, one Premium Cinema and one 4DX Cinema. The other cinemas in CGV Vivo City include boxes for couples.

Covering an area of 4,700 sq.m, CGV VivoCity is CGV's largest cinema in Viet Nam. The first film to launch at the new CGV VivoCity IMAX theatre starting April 24 will be the blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron.
