VietNamNet Bridge – The ethnic Cham group will hold their most important traditional festive, Ramuvan, from Friday to Sunday.

The festival includes cleaning and decorating ancestral graves, worshipping the ancestors and other cultural activities.

The festival, in the central province of Ninh Thuan, also attracts tourists and culture researchers.

* Photo exhibit spotlights ethnologist

Nearly 20 photographs of French ethnologist Georges Condominas in Viet Nam are on show at the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities until August 3.

Ngoc will lecture on Condominas's We Have Eaten the Forest book on Saturday at the university, 10-12 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, District 1.

Condominas, who spent his life researching the ethnic people of the Central Highlands, passed away on July 17 in France, of a heart attack.

* Local dancers to honour pink lotus

A programme gathering 60 professional and young dancers will take place on August 15-16 at the Cultural Friendship Palace on Tran Hung Dao Street, Ha Noi.

It aims at praising the beauty of pink lotus, which received the most votes at a national flower contest.
