VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese-American Chanelle Van Nguyen of Hung Thinh HCM City triumphed in the women’s singles category of the VTF Pro Tour 3 – third Open Viettravel Cup 2018 which concluded in Da Nang on June 10.

Nguyen, who is ranked 630th on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour, defeated her teammate Dao Minh Trang 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Earlier, in the women’s doubles, the 24-year-old player and No 1 seed Nguyen also won the title. She paired with Trang to beat duo Tran Thuy Thanh Truc and Phan Nhu Quynh 7-5, 6-2 in the final.

Meanwhile, Trinh Linh Giang of Becamex Binh Duong took the title of men’s singles after winning the national defending champion Pham Minh Tuan 1-6, 6-4 and 6-3.

The event saw the participation of nearly 100 players from 10 teams nationwide such as Ninh Thuan, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi, competing in men’s and women’s singles and doubles.
