Former national captain Doan Thi Kim Chi has been appointed manager of the HCM City women's football team.

Chi, 35, previously worked with the U19 squad that won the silver medal at the national championship last year.

She is now with the women players during their training in Long An, in preparation for the national tournament that will commence in March.

 
 

Chi was one of the best female strikers of Viet Nam. She has collected several titles, including four Southeast Asian Games trophies, four Golden Ball statues and many national championship gold medals.

The Ben Tre Province-born sportsperson retired in 2008.
