Accordingly, Chien has leveled up to 6th in the world in three-cushion billiard, following Frédéric Caudron from Belgium (448 points), Dick Jaspers from the Netherlands, Eddy Merckx from Belgium, Marco Zanetti from Italy and Semih Sayginer from Turkey.
On UMB’s updated scoreboard, Chien has 254 points.
Nguyen Quoc Nguyen also rose from 16th to 9th, putting both him and Chien in the world top 10.
In this year’s tournament held in South Korea, Nguyen made it to the quarter-finals with 26 points, while he achieved just 8 points after being disqualified in the knock-out stages last year.
Other Vietnamese players, like Ngo Dinh Nai and Ma Minh Cam, remain unchanged in the ranking.
After the World Cup tournament in South Korea, players will now prepare for the last tournament of the year in Hurngdaha, Egypt, held from December 2 to 9.
