The Hurghada tournament is the last World Cup for the world carom billiard 3 cushions community. Six Vietnamese are competing here.

World top 100 cueist Chien and Do Nguyen Trung Hau entered the third qualifying round in Group N. Chien defeated Ahmet Okumus from Turkey 30/28 and Yusuke Mori from Japan 30/24.

Meanwhile, Hau was beaten by Turkish player Savas Bulut 24/30, and then defeated Thomas Andersen from Denmark 30/23, but it wasn’t enough to stave off elimination.

In the fourth qualifying round, alongside Chien, Duong Anh Vu and Ma Xuan Cuong will also compete for a spot in the knock-out round of 32.

Chien will play in Group B with Andersen and Jeremy Bury from France, while Cuong and Vu share the same Group K with Sung Uk Oh from South Korea.

Vietnam’s top cueists Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Quoc Nguyen are also still in the tournament.
