VietNamNet Bridge – A children's library, the first organised by HCM City authorities with contributions from individuals and private organisations, opened recently in HCM City's District 9.
Located inside the Long Thuan Garden owned by fashion designer Sy Hoang, the Thu Vien Xanh (Green Library), has over 7,000 titles spanning literature, sciences, history, geography, fine arts and fashion.
It also has a small movie theatre equipped with hundreds of domestic and foreign cartoons. The six computers of the library are installed with software for lessons in Vietnamese and English for kindergarten and primary school children.
Ha Kim Dung of the General Science Library said book-reading competitions would be organised at the library every two months to encourage children to devote themselves to literature.

The Department of Information and Communication of HCM City has asked the city's Government to penalise four online game companies for providing games without licences.
The companies are Blue Sea Communication and Technology Company, Digital Solution Services Joint-Stock Company, FPT Online Joint-Stock Company and De Vuong Software Joint-Stock Company.
The Blue Sea Communication and Technology Company provided many kinds of game on websites, including http://giaitri24.vn, www.jamo.vn and www.topten.vn and on mobile networks with the phone prefix 8x77.
The department proposed a fine of VND40 million (US$1,938) each.
